Wow...I didn't know CCP was big enough to own WW.

I've always kinda frowned on the mergeing of online and tabletop gaming. I guess I'm just old school? Online games have never appealed to me (not even FPS games like Halo...ugh, I hate online games), and not being a computer guy even the idea of full VR roleplaying doesn't really appeal to me...I wouldn't be able to run as good over VR I don't think, not having a handle on programming and all that.

But, this is great news for fans of the medium!

Who's talking about VR?

Besides, I think using computers can be awsome..for example dong all the background calculations for combat in D&D or GURPS, so you're free for more tactical stuff, story and RPing (that's my hope, at least).

BTW, why don't you like online games?

Who is? I am! LOL. The thought of these persistant worlds and MMORPGs used to make me wait eagerly for the days of full VR...but I can't code worth shit...I wouldn't be able to make the jump to that medium as a GM. I was commenting on how even once we get there, I won't likely be involved. I'll be sitting at my table with my chipped up dice and battered GMs screen...LOL.

I use my laptop at the table for my notes and things...but that's as far as it goes. I won't even use a dice roller. Heh.

Why don't I like online games? Not sure really...just don't want to play with other people that aren't in the same room as me. I'd rather play against the computer or no one at all. As for RPGs...I like to know the people involved and hear their voices. I've never gotten into Everquest or any of those games...just seemed like a pale substitue for real roleplaying.

But that's just me...maybe I just don't play well with others. Speaking of me not playing well with others...whatever happened to Sifolis?

Sifolis sort of disappeared without trace, as far as I can tell...

While I enjoy random-stranger-on-the-net games from time to time, most of my online play is with friends: connecting skype for voice chat and then blasting your friends in F.E.A.R or WH40K:DoW is sublime.
Not to mentio that I intend to play the NWN2 main campaign co-op with a friend as soon as they work out all the many bugs this game has.
