Ninja Burger PBP Episode 28 - 01/10/07

Dice roll summary:
Whutaguy/Skipito (Deliverator): 12 = 3
Arvo/Toru (Driver): 05 = 11
Zipdrive/Kitaro (Chef): 28 = 6
Lorthyne/Bozuko (Spotter): 36 = 9
Wroe/Rin (Navigator): 31 = 4

Bozuko communes with Dispatch, and determines that he should bring ye olde pirate in. As he heads downstairs with the prisoner, Kitaro takes a peek out the window at the cops en route, but he can't really get a good look at what's going on.

Downstairs, Rin and Toru prep the van for departure. Rin is still a bit shaken up by the whole ordeal and can't really get her bearings. Luckily Arvo is communing with his ancestors (roll of 11) and he backs the van up right under the fire escape, giving the two team members up above an easy shot at escape. Arvo can see the cops heading down the street, preparing to set up a roadblock, but he's confident that he can squeeze down a nearby alley and make his escape.

First though...

Upstairs, Kitaro turns and hands off the bag to Skipito, who hands it off to the customer...

Bt as it turns out, this does not go as planned, because you will recall I said last week that...

"Unless you completely botch your "rolls" this is a piece of cake."

And Skipito, alas, has gotten himself a 3, whereas the target number for the most trivial task is a 5. Normally this wouldn't be a problem, but you'll also recall this comment from Skipito:

"Taking everything to +0"

Which means he can't add any skills, so he gets a 3 on the roll to deliver the food. Which means...

...Skipito and Kitaro can only stare in horror as the bottom of the grease-soaked bag gives out, and the entire order begins to fall towards the floor.

Skipito the Deliverator and Kitaro the Cook are the only ones who can possibly react to this event.

Posting for timestamp purposes.

"it seems out plan is falling through" thinks Kitaro (as this is bullet time and he can't speak fast ebough) [-2 punster]
He then tries to whip out his beloved folding cutting board and catch the order on it in an orderly manner [two puns in one post...wheee!], hoping the shocked customer will consider it an interesting serving tray.

If he manages to make it resemble a serving suggestion, he'll snap a bit of foliage from a neaby potted plant and add it as garnish [+2 cook].

Skipito if literally dumbfounded. With his amazing ability to adapt to any situation, he allows his jaw to drop to the floor. He thinks "How could that possibly have happened?"

He mumbles "Your continued business is our satisfaction survey," bows to Kitaro and heads for the window, the fire escape, the van, the first aid kit, and the contemplation of seppuku.

"How will I ever become 'Deliverator of Legend' when I can't even complete my first delivery?"

[ooc] now, that I've reread the injury rules, I could have done that much better. [/ooc]

Sorry aeon, I figured that the delivery was pretty much wrapped up (take that, Kitaro!), and so I assumed that I didn't need to post as "Skipito the Deliverator and Kitaro the Cook are the only ones who can possibly react to this event."

Bozuko will drag the apprehended pirate towards the ninja van, avoiding police and other obstacles as needed. If the pirate struggles or resists, Bozo will gag him, again as needed. Once reaching the vehicle, Bozuko will leap inside with his captive and hogtie the unlucky scallawag with some complicated ninja knots to keep him from causing further trouble.

Yeah sorry, same thing here! When you said "Skipito the Deliverator and Kitaro the Cook are the only ones who can possibly react to this event" I thought that meant that only they could act.
Toru fires up the van, puts it in first, turns to Rin, and asks, "What's the best way out of here?" [Stunt Driver +2]
