PbP dedicated site

I have started a site dedicated to play-by-post rpg'ing. There are not a lot of members yet, but I'm hoping you'll register and start posting some so that more might follow.
Anyways, it's theboardwars.com and the forums are at theboardwars.net, check them out.

I am amazed! A website with such high ideals and such poor execution.

First off, a wesite DEDICATED to PbP ought to, I think, mention that on the front page.

While I fully appreciate yet another poll debating the merits of SW vs LoTR, most sites with the above mentioned aims (dedicated to PbP) might put the poll in a sidebar. Others might put up a poll relating to the topic. An example of such would be a poll of "On which site did the visitor find reference to theboardwars.com?"

I must applaud the mandate for english language, but do believe that the banishment of noobish (and other geekly slang) will cost this site 40-90% of its potential traffic.

Lastly, If I were running a site dedicated to PbP, I think I might have at least one game posted, so the curious shopper won't go "huh, dead space."

That said, I am going to register and continue to monitor this space.

Thanks for your input Whutaguy.
About mentioning the site's aim on the front page. Well, I do have that "About" page which pretty much describes everything quite well I think.

As for banning "internet slang"/"n00bish", I'm not going to ban someone for typing "lol" or something similar once in a while, but I see more and more posts these days that go like "Rofl omfg that's so leet yay 1337!! rofl LOLLOLOLOL!!!" and it's getting frustrating. But that's not even the worst part. The worst of it is that I've had to refer to wikipedia's list of internet slang phrases several times within minutes in order to understand what some people are talking about.

I have been thinking of starting a game. Though with so few members (even fewer that actually post) it seems a bit early. I might start something when a few more people have found the site and registered.
This is actually why I started the poll about star wars and lotr, so that people would find a reason to register. But maybe you're right, maybe a game in a coma is better than no game at all. I will consider this. Until then, maybe my "Post-A-Lot" contest will draw members... or not.

Anyways, thanks again for your input. I really do appriciate it.

Stick to your guns, PointSingularity. Ban noobish. Who wants that traffic anyway?

'Leet' - quite possibly the perfect oxymoron in its present usage.

You mean L337, right?

;)
