Which GM's out there have Monks in their campaigns? What changes do you typically make to the class, if any?
In my opinion the Monk abilities undermine the fighter character class and introduces a number of absurd notions:
I was posting in another forum and was wondering if anyone is interested in some house rules for running clerics in AD&D 2E? I think it would work with 3E but I haven't tried it. My players like it so much we have ended up with 3 clerics in a party of 5.
If you are interested in participating in a test play focus group for Epic Fantasy Roleplaying, please send me your contact information and I will send you an information package with non-disclosure agreement, terms and conditions, and an application form. Although the gaming / test-play may be conducted wherever your group decides to meet, the focus group for feedback is held in London, Ontario, Canada. Participation in the three focus sessions is part of the agreement. The format is as follows:
I have a rogue character who is neutral good. She is in it for the challenge to see if she can get somehwere do something and take it without getting caught. Uninterested in killing and such but sometimes It's gotta happen. Lately shes found herself killing guards in large citys and is running like the hounds of hell are onto her. Unfortunatly if she does get caught she can never seem to come up with a good story no matter how high her bluff might be.
Riddles are a mainstay of dungeon crawls & RPGs as much as traps, treasures, maidens and monsters. They've been a part of the fantasy genre since the Oedipus trumped the sphynx and even after Bilbo stumped Golem. Have you ever come upon a really great riddle during a gaming session? Whether it was from the jaws of an odius fiend who'd kill a wrong answerer, a magic mouth who would not let anyone by without the password, or what have you, please share your interesting riddles!
How many of you people play (or have players in your group play) characters in the third person? how many in first?
we haven't had a urvey in a while, so let's do a survey:
What's the best RPG supplament you've ever had?
1. What was the best one to read, and why?
2. What was the best one to insert into your gaming sessions and what did it add to the playing experience?
I just thought I'd share this with everyone:
I was shocked to discover, a few weeks ago, that the DM in my newly founded D&D group actually HIDES the fact that he's playing D&D from his girlfriend.
I met my gaming group (which consists of Dan, Mike, and Kittie) in ninth grade. Since then there have been multiple additions and subtractions, some important, some not. One recent addition has been a kid named Tim, Tim appeared out of nowhere and has since become my best friend and closest gaming buddy.
Good day to you all at Gamegrene. I'm a new forum-goer, but long-time reader and fan of the Gamerchick, so I thought I'd come here to conduct a bit of research. I've got a game in the works that's has a fairly high-detail mechanics system, but doesn't involve complex batches of dice or long tables (tables are still needed for things like injury effects and miscasts).
