campaign....How long is your campaign?
Sorry I dragged you to this post with false pretense, but a few mentions on this site made me think about this.
Are/were you playing in a campaign with a duration of years? decades? longer? (undead GMs notwithstading). Why? What made it worth sticking with? If in the past, what made it end?
I was reading an artical on here by "arkelias" about driving your players mad. Though I could waste time picking at samatical points that I didn't agree with, I rather flatter the writer and say that I agree with the majority of the artical and have been doing just that for many years (driving my players mad)
Ive seen alot of posts and articals about people's home-brewed realms but after seeing the detials i see they are full of bogus-bull when it comes to taking credit for building a true realm on their own.
Hi there everybody. I have to say that I'm a little new to D&D or the seventh layer of nerd hell as my friends call it. My younger brother got me into it lately ( he's still in high school) but all the people we play with seem to be more interested in jacking themselves off in the game than actually getting a good story or adventure out of it. My brother and I are both obsesed with games in general especaly fantasy (thanks mom) but is there any way for us to find people who are more interested in a developed story and a rich adventure in the chicago land area?
aeon, there is a demand for those light rules.
Please email me: ramonez1@lycos.com
Cheers!

I love running for a group. My prefered size is 3 players plus me, the GM. However, after moving to a new city two years ago me and my fiance didn't at first have time to find a new group. I began running a solo campaign for her in the meantime, and it went really well. Since then, we have come to enjoy it so much that we haven't yet gotten around to finding that new group to play with.
What's the coolest NPC you've ever created?
Here's mine:
Wing Lang
Half-elf male 13th level warrior/kung-fu master
AC: 16
HP: 45
All: lawful evil
Martial arts: Four keys + Dragon kung-fu
What are everyone's thoughts on this? It's a topic I've always cringed from to be honest. I hate the resurection spells in D&D, and disallow them in any campaign I've ever run. I've gone so far as to rework entire pre-published adventures I wanted to use just because at some point there's a resurection of an NPC villain. However, it is part of the rules in many fantasy games, and sometimes we come across players that want to (over)use it.
Years ago there were two major systems, D&D and Runequest. I'm not sure how many of you have heard of Runequest but it has influence a lot of systems including 3e D&D and BRP by Chaosium.
And the new system will be published by Mongoose Publishing, who also do Conan.
Recently during a campaign, run by what me and my compatriot refer to as a diabolical Dungeon Master has presented my Wight character with a mysterious black orb that, when touched to a very recently deceased body (within a ten second time frame), it appears to absorb their soul which momentarily send a shockwave of power through my arm. I was wondering if anyone would be able to shed any light on this item?
